DAVID DAVIDOVICH BURLYUK (1882-1967)
Painter, graphic artist, theatre designer, critic, poet. In 1898-99, 1901 studied at the Kazan Art School, in 1902-03 - at the Royal Academy under V.Ditz (Munich), in 1904 - at F.Cormon's atelier (Paris), in 1910-14 at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Archtecture. From 1906 - participant of exhibitions. In 1910 - one of the organizers of association "The Jack of Diamonds". Member and exhibitor of associations: 1906-07 - "The Union of Russian Artists", "The Society of South Russian Artists ", 1907-08 - the Society of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, 1908 - "The Garland", 1909 - salon "The Golden Fleece", 1911 - "The Union of Youth", the 1st exhibition of the "Blauen Reiter" (Munich), 1912 - group "The Triangle", 1912-18 - "The Moscow Society of Artists ", 1912-1916 - "The Jack of Diamonds", 1913 - "The Moscow Salon", 1915 - "The World of Art". Organizer of group of futurist poets "The Hyleya". Author of numerous articles on the problems of art. In 1920 emigrated to Japan. From 1922 lived in USA.
