KONCHALOVSKY PYOTR PETROVICH (1876-1956)

Painter, theatre designer. Studied at the studio of M.Raevskaya-Ivanova (in Kharkov), at the Stroganov Industrial Art School in Moscow (from 1889), at the Academie Julian (1896 - 98) in Paris under J-P.Lorance and J-J.Benjamen-Constan, at the Academy of Fine Arts (1898 - 1907) under P.Tvorozhnikov, V.Savinsky, P.Kovalevsky. Lived in Moscow. Participant of exhibitions from 1908 ("The Golden Fleece", "The World of Art", "The Jack of Diamonds", "Being", the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia, etc.), one of the founders and chairman of association "The Jack of Diamonds" (1910). Dessigner of S.Zimin's opera enterprise (1912 - 14). Taught at the Free Workshops (1918 - 21), at the Moscow Higher Art and Technical Workshops/Institute (1926 - 29). Personal exhibitions: Moscow (1922, 1927 - 30), Paris (1925), etc. Her works are kept in many museums of Russia and abroad.
