MASHKOV ILYA IVANOVICH (1881-1944)

Painter, graphic artist. Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Scupture and Architecture (1900 - 09) under K.Korovin and V.Serov. Opened a private studio and taught at it (1904 - 17). In 1908 traveled to France, Germany, England, Austria, Spain, Italy. Participant of exhibitions from 1908 ("The New Society of Artists", "The Golden Fleece", "The Salon" of V.Izdebsky, "The World of Art" and others), one of the organizers of association "The Jack of Diamonds" (1910). Taught at the Free Workshops, at the Moscow Higher Art and Technical Workshops/Institute (1918 - 30), member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (1924 - 32), one of the organizers of the Society of Moscow Artists. His works are kept in many museums of Russia and abroad.
