LENTULOV ARISTARKH VASILYEVICH (1882-1943)
Painter, theatre designer. Studied at the Penza art school named after N.Selivyorstov (1898-1900), at the Kiev art school (1900-04) under N.Pimonenko, at D.Kardovsky studio (1907 - 08) in St. Petersburg, in Paris (1911) under A.Le Fokonnier. Participant of exhibitions from 1905 (in Penza, "The Garland", "Stephanos", "The Link", V.Izdebsky's "salon", the Moscow Society of Artists, etc.). One of the organizers of "The Jack of Diamonds" (1910), participant of exhibitions of "The World of Art" (from 1911) and others. In 1916, 1918-26, 1930 designed theatre performances in Moscow. Taught at the Free Workshops, at the Moscow Higher Art and Technical Workshops/Institute , the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1919 - 43). Member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (from 1926), the Society of Young Artists (from 1919), the Society of Moscow Artists (from 1928).
