IVAN IVANOVICH SHISHKIN (1831-1898)
Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Scupture and Archtecture (1852-1856) under A.N.Mokrytsky and K.I.Rabus, at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg (1856-1860) under S.M.Vorbyov. Founder member of the Society of Itinerant Art Exhibitions . Participant of exhibitions of the Society of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, the School of Painting, Scupture and Architecture, the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, the Society of Russian Water-Colour Painters, All-Russia exhibitions. In 1865 - received the title of academician of painting; from 1893 - member of the Academy of Arts. His works are housed in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Kiev Museum of Russian Art and many other museums.
