MIKHAIL VASILYEVICH NESTEROV (1862-1942)
Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1877-81 and 1884-86) under V.G.Perov, A.K.Savrasov, I.M.Pryanishnikov, at the Academy of Arts (1881-84) under P.P.Chistyakov. Founder member of the Union of Russian Artists. From 1898 - academician, from 1910 - active member of the Academy of Arts. His works are housed in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many other museums.
