LEONID OSIPOVICH PASTERNAK (1862-1945)
Painter, graphic artist. Studied at the Odessa drawing school and at the Munich Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In 1905 received the title of academician.
From 1921 lived abroad. Products by Pasternak are kept in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, in many state and private collections in Russia and abroad. While the numerous genre and portrait works of the artist are imbued with traces of academic lines, his landscape compositions, rather rare in his artistic production, vividly demonstrate the picturesque skill of one of the most known representatives of the so-called "post-impressionist" era in Russian painting of the late 19th - the early 20th centuries.
