The present picture is a replica made by an unknown painter of the picture of the same name by Timofei Andreevich von Neuff (1805-1876). T.A. von Neuff is Class 1 professor of history and portrait painting , court painter. Executed a number of portraits of persons belonging to the Imperial family, and also sacred images for the court churches. He created among the others many icons for the Cathedral of St. Isaac in St. Petersburg, the iconostasis for the chapel in Nice, 31 icons for the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
