GERASIMOV SERGEI VASILYEVICH (1885-1964)
Oil painter. Lenin prize laureat, People's Artist of the RSFSR and the USSR. Studied at the Stroganov Industrial Art School (1901-07) under S.V.Ivanov and K.A.Korovin , at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1907-12) under the same professors and A.Ye.Arkhipov. Member of society "The Art is Life" ("The Makovets") (1922-25), the Society of Moscow Artists (1926-29), the Association of Revolution Artists (1930-32). Produced portraits, revolutionary, history and genre canvases, landscapes and still-lives. Works are kept in many museums and private collections of Russia.
