TERPSIKHOROV
Nikolay Borisovich
(1890—1960)

Studied at K.Yuon and V. Meshkov’s studios (1907—10). From 1911 to 17 studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture - N. Kasatkin, K. Korovin and A. Vasnetsov’s apprentice. In 1922 joined the Association of Russian Realism Artists. Terpsikhorov participated in all eleven exhibitions held by the Association (1922—29). He went on many trips round the country. Painted genre pieces about Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. In 1941—1949 painted the following works: “A Day in the Rear”, “Round to the Enemy”, “Letter from the Front”. Since the 30s became keen on painting landscapes. Terpsikhorov participated in all annual exhibitions of the Moscow branch of the Artists’ Society. His works are exhibited at the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum and other art galleries both in Russia and abroad.
